The Council: Typically only the Alphas, Betas, and the Delta make up the Council, though Healers, Spirituals, Elders and sometimes the Elite Wolves can also be included. It is a rare thing that other wolves in the pack will be brought into a council but it isn't unheard of (both temporary or permanently). The Council is the highest section within the pack and the wolves within this section are those that will help lead the pack.
Respected Wolves: The wolves of this section are expected to be given respect from all pack members. These wolves include the Spiritual, Healers, Keepers and Elders. They serve important roles within the pack and contribute all of their years of experience and skill.
Elite Wolves: A wolf who has come to master their role will be known as Elite. These wolves have earned a high rank within the pack and they will often be given greater responsibilities; such as leading patrols. Regular wolves within the pack are expected to listen to Elite Wolves.
Adult Wolves: This are regular Pack Wolves, which always makes up the majority of the pack. These wolves are expected to show proper respect to those better then them. They are official pack members and are vital to the survival of the pack.
Adolescence: These are young wolves, those that had outgrown their "pup" rank. They are expected to prove themselves in trials before they are accepted as an Adult and an official pack member. These wolves train and learn within the pack and, though they may strive for a role, it is the Council's decision on which responsibilities they are best suited for to take on when they become Adults.
Pups: The future of the pack. These young little wolves are cherished and nurtured by all pack members and are raised well. The Keeper teaches them the ways of the life they will lead; about their pack, their history, their beliefs, and stories. The pups are taken care of depending on their parents; those with higher ranked parents are attended to first, though despite this no pup should ever be mistreated.
Ranks: A wolf's rank determines where they stand in the social setting within the pack. Ranks include Alpha, Beta, Delta, Spiritual, Keeper, Healer, Elder, Elite, Official, Adolescent, and Pup.
Roles: Roles are given to wolves who have been recognized for; which is a skill/talent that they are particular gifted with. A wolf may have two roles, but this is rare, and typically a wolf with two roles can never become an Elite; for managing two roles is difficult enough, let alone mastering either one of them, however these wolves will still raise slightly in status, since a wolf with two skills is a huge asset to the pack. A wolf with a specific role does not have to limit his/her actions to that role alone, it is simply something that they specialize and are known for. A Role is the wolf's responsibility within the pack; it is something that they are skilled at and use to contribute to their pack. Only Elites and Officials are required to have Roles. Adolescence' strive for a role but they will not receive one until they become an Official Wolf.
Lead Alpha: Typically the Lead Alpha is the most dominate male. He is the wolf to lead his pack and give the final say in big/difficult decisions. He is the top wolf of the entire pack and he is the wolf to take a stand whenever need be. The Lead Alpha is usually chosen within the bloodline of the alphas, though there are times when he could be the chosen mate to the Second Alpha.
Second Alpha: Typically the mate to the Lead Alpha, which is usually the most dominate female (though not always). She is the wolf to take charge when the Lead Alpha cannot. She is either chosen from the bloodline from the alphas or is the chosen mate to the First Alpha.
Betas: The two wolves who are second only to the Alphas. They are usually a mated pair, but it is not uncommon if they're not. Beta's are the best of the best in the pack and are chosen by the Alphas. These wolves take charge when an Alpha is absent.
Delta: A wolf, who is the prime of the pack, chosen by the Alphas to train and perfect his/her role. This wolf keeps a careful eye on the pack and sees that things get done. This is also the wolf that plans out war strategies against threats against the pack. The Delta ensures that all wolves within the pack are not only in-line, but safe and fit as well.
Spiritual: A very rare role that is held by only one wolf in the pack; this role is so rare, in fact, that there are often times when the pack is without a Spiritual (this would be an uneasy time for the pack though). This wolf is connected with the spirits and ancestors, having had the sixth sense open completely. All wolves have a sixth sense, but it is something that will only open to a wolf at rare and very brief moments; while a Spiritual has managed to open their sixth sense entirely, so much that it will be harder to notice when whatever is being sensed is natural or spiritual, which means that this wolf must be cunning and decisive.
Keepers: These wolves are known for their vast amount of knowledge. They keep track of everything that has happened to the pack and are the holders of the pack's history as well as their beliefs and traditions (sometimes even secrets from pack members). They are usually trusted with all of the pack's information, for they can should be able to recall everything and repeat it back. However some information must be kept secret, unless a certain wolf requests this information. These wolves must be loyal and tough; they will have to undergo harsh training so that they are able to keep their mouth sealed, in case they are every tortured for information. Keepers will often stay behind to teach the young pups about the pack and it's history among many other such things; they are the teachers of the pups. A Keeper is a harder role to obtain then a Healer.
Healers: It is very difficult for a wolf to become a full Healer, for there is a lot to know and a lot of experience to gain. The Healers have a vast knowledge of herbs and other remedies that can be used to aid in healing an injured or ailing wolf; sometimes a Healer is also required to make a wolf's last moments as painless as possible. They treat wolves within their pack with anything that might effect their well-being. Sometimes they will even have to rehabilitate wolves, from those that suffer crippling injuries to those that are subjected to mental or emotional problems.
Elders: These wolves are the oldest and wisest within the pack. Because of their vast experience they are given respect and courtesy from their pack. They will often lend their advice and suggestions to the council or other pack members. Elders are sometimes able to attend patrols or hunts but will often remain in camp to help raise the pups. Elders hold a key role in the pack that is often overlooked.
Hunters: These wolves hold responsibility for feeding the pack. They are known for their speed and strength when taking down their prey, as well as their sharp judgment when choosing the right target. They have to be swift and light on their paws, while having enough strength to be able to hold their own while out hunting.
Fighters: These wolves are known for their battle skills and ferocity. They are able to take hits and get back onto their paws; this makes them tenacious and determined. They are powerful, courageous wolves who protect and defend their pack against threats and other dangers.
Trackers: These wolves are known for their sharp senses. They must have a good memory and good endurance, for they travel the territories of their pack and keep track of the prey and how much there is of each, as well as their path of travel. They are able to track prey with ease and the wolves to approach before anyone goes to hunt; they are meant to help keep the prey's population in check. These wolves will also report of any trespassers, including what they are, where they came from, where they are headed and so on.
Watchers: These wolves are known for their vigilance and keen eyes. At least one must be stationed at the camp at all times, where they watch over their pack members while they rest; these wolves will relieve one another now and then. Watchers will be set up throughout the pack's territory to guard the lands and perform patrols, while they keep an eye out for anything and everything. They report everything they come across to the Alphas, Betas or the Delta. Watchers share information among each other to avoid confusion, misunderstands and to allow them to work in their Roles effectively and efficiently.
Omegas: These wolves are those that are unable to specialize in any role within the pack, which means they hold the lowest rank, but that doesn't mean they are worthless. They perform tedious chores that other wolves cannot have time to do; such as watching the pups, fetching herbs when Healers cannot, or fetching food from storage, but this is really only when the Adolescents cannot do these tasks, which leaves the Omega the errand wolf. Omegas are often wolves who become the target of stress in the pack, where pack members lash out to to relieve their tension... though this is usually not allowed, it can still happen. Sometimes wolves will be demoted to an Omega if they get into trouble (the amount of time as an Omega can vary).

___ Trial Once a Pup reaches the Adolescence age then he/she must take a trial. The Pups will have next to no experience about the world, other then the stories they've heard and tips the older wolves may give them now and then. It is not uncommon that Pups prepare themselves for their trial; from getting fit and honing their skills in playful games, to mock training imitated from their older pack-mates. While in the pack's territories the Pup must live the life of a loner for five days. They will be lead individually to a certain spot in the territory, by a Watcher; they will met in that spot at the end of the trial, so the pup must be able to find their way back to the place where they were lead to. Unknown to the Pups a Watcher will keep on eye for them once in a while in secrecy and make sure that they will not die; if they do need assistance then they must redo the trial from the start. But the only time when a Watcher will offer their aid, is if they feel the Pup is close to death. At the end of their trial they must go before the council and show them the skull of their greatest catch and tell them the most valuable piece of knowledge that they gained (which can be anything). The skull and knowledge, as well as their condition will be what the council uses to judge the Pup. These trials are meant to teach the pups the importance of their pack and it will heighten their survival instincts, which could save them during harsh times.
___ Trial Once an Adolescence reaches the adult age they must go through another trial in order to gain the rank of an official Pack Member. This trial is not quite like their first one. Before their trial they all stand before the council and they are given the roles that they will become if they pass; this will also determine how they will pass their trial. Each Adolescence will be given three feathers, each died with a color depending on what role they will have. Fighters must be able to collect as much of these feathers as they can; how many feathers and the color of these feathers will decide if they should pass or not. Hunters must collect the skulls of their catch and those skulls will determine if they pass or not. Healers must gather a collection of herbs and other remedies, and that will decide if they pass or not. Trackers must be able to gather information about the wolves and other creatures in the area they are left in, their report will decide if they pass or not. Watchers must remain stationed in one spot for a very long period of time, an adult Watcher will appear a few times to allow them a small break to either eat or sleep, until they must return to their location and resume watch; their condition and the information they've gathered will determine whether they pass or not. All these trials are a moon's rotation long. Spirituals and Keepers are given different trials which are unknown to the other Adolescences'.

This pack believes in only two gods, who are known by many names, but are most commonly known as the God of Life and the God of Death. Long, long ago, before any wolf can remember, there was nothing but chaos for all living things. Two gray wolves came into the world, though no one knew how they came to be. They were there to create a suitable life for the wolves. They were siblings, brother and sister, both holding a sense of justice and devotion for their kind. The brother deemed what was right and took the role of seeking out all good, so that he may care for it and give it the strength and power that it would need to last; while the sister deemed what was wrong and took the role to seeking out all bad, so that she may vanquish it and put it to an end. They did everything they could but it had not been enough, for the land was inhospitable to them as well and soon they had died... However their love and devotion was undying and this alone was what kept their spirits alive. They were the first wolves to enter the realm after life, when all other wolves simply vanished when they died. But in the after-life, the two siblings were forced to watch their kind suffer and they felt powerless to stop it... they wept. Their tears for all the suffering of the wolves collected and formed water; in their death, they created a life force. It was then that they saw that they had somehow been granted powers to make a difference. They continued their roles now as spirits... Eventually the brother's gray fur turned white, for his soul was becoming so pure from his chosen role that it changed him. The same happened to the sister, but she was becoming tainted until her fur turned black. The sister was falling into the dark depths of evil, and at the same time the brother was rising and beginning to disperse into the air itself. Now the two siblings, despite how different they had become, were still forever loyal to one another and in an act of love they reached out and grabbed hold of each other. The brother's purity was enough to keep his sister from sinking further into evil, while her weight of suffering was what kept the brother anchored down; they balanced one another... and this was how they reached the powers of gods; for together they had become greater then any spirit. Balance lies everywhere, because of these two gods. Death may occur, but life will always take it's place; Spring will always follow winter; The sun may fall but the moon will light the land while it's gone; the moon itself even shows balance, for there is a light and dark side to it that is every lasting.
Though this pack holds strong to their beliefs they are not as religious or superstitious as one may think. They feel that whatever happens it must keep going on it's course, as the natural way of life, however they will take action if they feel they must. Any "signs" they may receive have to be significant, frequent or consistent in order for them to take them seriously. Also, due to their beliefs, this pack is neither considered "good" or "bad" they simply do whatever they must in order to survive. There may be times when they may have to travel on a "dark" path in order for their pack to benefit, and they will hold no shame in it. They will usually stay away from creating any huge battles or wars, but they will if they feel they must. They accept the good and bad that may come their way; which can also mean that they, themselves, can adapt and change their ways to either good or bad, depending on the situation. With that being said, they are far from passive (though they can be); this pack should not be underestimated; they will relinquish anything that may pose a threat to the pack as a whole. Justice is a huge thing for this pack and they will usually take action to uphold justice; on rare occasions this may even apply to things outside of the pack. For them justice is what their gods fought to bring into existence (among many other things); their gods gave up their lives to change the cruel life their kind suffered through. This pack believes that for every downfall that they may experience something will happen and rise the pack back into it's former glory. Sometimes they will make this happen, but in the end they believe it will always happen. With every fall in their history they rose again; this was how they survived and this is how they will continue to survive.

... Now, this pack once came from a very far away place. Their old home had gotten far to difficult to continue to live in; the water source was growing smaller, the prey was more scarce and there were many battles with other packs. This pack knew that the balance of their lives was horribly off and so they left in search of a new home. After some time they came across the home that is currently theirs. They made their home next to the lake, which they felt was well named, but as they settled their Spiritual spoke of a threat that will come far in their future. For the "White Lake" which became their life force, must be balanced with some "black" thing that threatens their life. The wolves from that time have long since passed on, but this information was passed onto the Keepers, who keep an eye out for this "Black Threat". ...
